jrockin’ around the world

This blog is about my various adventures in Tokyo, discovering what makes this city tick while finding music, watching music and trying to somehow get involved in music. Japanese history and culture, in particular pop culture, is my passion. From small hidden shrines to the modern world of fashion, music and television, I tend to feel very at home in Tokyo. Mostly my blog will concentrate on these aspects of Tokyo but with a fair amount of random extras thrown in that amuse me about this city. My lack of a decent camera (and the resources to buy one) also leaves me to document these adventures on my little keitai, that said I am on a small mission to see how well I can take photos using only a keitai.

Tokyo is like nowhere else on earth to live with the sheer number of social and physical contradictions; even when I feel I understand it due to my pop culture love it continues to shock me. Tokyo does get tiring; it gets boring but then suddenly it will throw something unexpected at you, something thrilling. There is nowhere more unbelievably mundane and yet exciting to live in.
